Abstract

878,528. Pipe joints. SHAW & CO. Ltd., W. July 20, 1960 [April 22, 1959], No. 13689/59. Class 99(1). In a pipe joint the end portions of pipes 2 are embraced by flanged rings 1 interconnected by bolts and spaced apart by an abutment ring 4, the latter being provided with one or more bolts 5 screwed through the ring and arranged to project between the pipes 2 so as to prevent axial movement of the ring 4 relative to the pipes and closure of the gap between the pipes. Flexible packing rings 6 are interposed between the rings 1, 4 to provide a fluid-tight joint.
