Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula: <FORM:0875470/IV (b)/1> wherein R1 represents a hydrocarbon radical or a substituted hydrocarbon radical (e.g. b -(2:4-diamylphenoxy)ethyl), R2 represents a hydrocarbon radical, a substituted hydrocarbon radical, a -COOR3 radical (in which R3 represents an alkyl or substituted alkyl radical) or a -CON(R4)R5 radical (in which R4 and R5 represent hydrogen or substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radicals). The compounds are prepared by reacting an indazolone which is substituted by an R2 substituent in the 4-position and is unsubstituted in the 2-position with a chloroformic ester of the formula Cl.COOR1. According to the Provisional Specification R2 may also represent an -o-alkyl, -s-alkyl, -SO2-alkyl, -CO-alkyl, -CN or acylamido group, and the benzene ring may be substituted by a carboxyl group in the 6- or 7-position.
