[Also in Group XXVIII] A tool for marking the ends of pipes to indicate the extent of insertion thereof into a jointing ring comprises a sheet metal member 15 shaped to engage the end face and outer cylindrical surface of the pipe 10, and a scriber 16 which marks the outer surface of the pipe when the tool is moved around the circumference of the pipe end.
