Abstract
846,962. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. BLACKBURN GROUP Ltd., and SPRINGHAM, J. Oct. 31, 1958 [Dec. 16, 1957], No. 39120/57. Class 135. An hydraulically powered flying control system comprises 3 mechanically paralleled but otherwise independent servo-controlled hydraulic jacks B each having a non-return valve in a duct between opposite ends of its cylinder and resilient means in the form of spring boxes D incorporated in the actuating member of each servo-control valve E, such that if one servo-valve jams the other two valves can still be operated, the spring box compensating for the lack of movement of the jammed valve. Two input movement imparting rods A, A<SP>1</SP> are connected to a three-armed member " C " for transmitting motion to the members S. The rams M of the jacks are attached to the aircraft structure and the bodies B are coupled together and to the actuating member L of the aircraft control surface. Moving seat follow-up is provided for the servo valves E. A switch may be provided to give an indication of a jammed valve.
