842,856. Crop sprayers. FISONS PEST CONTROL Ltd. Oct. 11, 1956 [Oct. 13, 1955], No. 29182/55. Class 69 (3). The inner end of a spray boom 1 is pivoted on a hinge 2, 3 comprising two pins at right angles carried in a lug 3 secured to a mobile spraying machine. In the spraying position the boom extends outwardly from the machine, and on striking an obstacle it yields rearwardly about the near vertical pin of the hinge and, due to the slight forward inclination of this pin, returns automatically by gravity to its spraying position. The other hinge pin enables the boom to be pivoted to a near vertical stowage position. Spring clips hold the boom in its spraying and stowage positions and a resilient buffer cushions the return of the boom after its striking an obstacle.
