Abstract

837,173. Electric correspondence control systems. BOFORS A.B. March 7, 1958 [March 8, 1957], No. 7410/58. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XL (c)] The Figure shows a servo system for controlling a gun 28 in dependence upon the movement of handle 20 having a switching system 33, described in connection with Fig. 1 (not shown) (see Group XL (c)), which determines the change-over point from a coarse to a fine selsyn system. Handle 20 sets the fine and coarse transmitters 21, 22 respectively which are directly connected by device 23 so that there is a fixed ratio between their speeds. The stator windings in the two synchros are connected to the stator windings of synchro receivers 24, 25 similarly connected by a transmission device 26. Synchro 24 has a direct drive 27 with the gun 28. The rotor winding of synchro 25 is connected to input amplifier 29, the output of which is connected to switching device 33 at input 61. The output of the amplifier is also connected to a transistor device, Fig. 3 (not shown) (see Group XL (c)), which gives an output D.C. voltage having a value in dependence upon the amplitude of the alternating current input. A direct voltage source provides a suitable reference D.C. voltage and the output 9 of the switching device is connected to a detector, filter and D.C. amplifier unit 31, the output side of which drives gun 28. Thus, as described in connection with Figs. 1 and 3 (not shown) (see Group XL (c)), the switching device 33 provides a changeover between the coarse and the fine system since the selection of the A.C. inputs supplied at 6, 61 respectively is determined by the relationship between the variable D.C. control voltage derived from the output of amplifier 29 and the reference D.C. voltage.
