Abstract

828,302. Hair curlers. ANDERSON, E. D. March 26, 1956 [April 4, 1955], No. 9414/56. Class 131 A hair curler comprises a resilient spiral member capable of being uncoiled and folded longitudinally to embrace the hair, the member returning spontaneously to its spiral form when released. As shown in Figs. 2 and 3 members A having a metal core K in a synthetic plastic sheath are connected by threads or a web B and are locked in hair embracing position by clamps C, the curler being secured on the head by a net or clips and the hair being moistened with water or waving solution before or after assuming the coiled form. Modifications include a perforated synthetic plastic tube slit longitudinally to receive the hair, a resilient member D, as shown in Fig. 4, having clamps E, which may be spring-urged to embrace the hair, and coiled so that the member D is on the inside of the spiral. One of the members A may be of limp synthetic plastic or an extended metal or plastic spiral may be inserted in a curler already installed on the hair. The curler is made of synthetic plastic metal, rubber or combinations of these materials.
