Abstract

791,913. Two-part couplings. KUNZ, G. June 29, 1956 [June 30, 1955], No. 20205/56. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXXVII] A contact comprises a strip 1 slit at 4, 5 and provided with resilient tongues 2, 21 which, when engaged with an exactly similar contact at right angles to it, contact the central portion between the tongues. Indentations or perforations may be provided in said central portions for engagement with the ends of the tongues (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown). Several contacts may be stacked to form a laminated contact for use with higher currents (Fig. 6) or a piece of sheet metal 11 may be bent round a wire loop 12 (Fig. 3A). A single pole connector may be formed with the contact accommodated in grooves in part-cylindrical extensions 20, 21 of an insulating carrier base 19 (Fig. 7), while in a multiplepole connector contacts 23 ... 26 are housed in a body 27, the axes of one pair being oriented at 45 degrees to the axes of the other pair so that the connector can be engaged with a similar connector in one position only.
