788,452. Venetian blinds. VENETIAN VOGUE, Ltd. (Aktieselskabet Stanso). June 1, 1956 [March 1, 1955], No. 6043/55. Class 20(3) The top board structure 1 of a venetian blind is of substantially U-crosssection, having spaced walls 1a with inwardly bent edges 1b. The locking mechanism 6, comprising a roller 6a over which cords 7 pass, and a locking pawl 6b pivotable to pinch cords 7 against an abutment (no shown), the slatcarrier rollers 2, to. which tapes 3 carrying slats 4 are anchored, rotatably mounted in bearings 5a, and tilting gear 9 comprising a worm wheel drive, operated by cords 10, which rotates the shafts 12, 11, are supported in substantially U-section fittings 8, 5, 13 respectively, which are slid into position through the open ends of the structure and held there frictionally or by indenting the edges 1b of the side walls. Alternatively, the fittings may be retained by flanges or grooves extending along the walls 1a so that fixing means such as rivets or screws are dispensed with. The cords 7 may be anchored. to the top board and passed round pulleys on, the bottom board, or be anchored to the bottom board, which comprises an upper and lower sheet metal member in slidable engagement and end caps, the tapes 3 passing through slots in the upper member.
