A cylindrical article 10, such as a plaster of Paris bandage, is enclosed between two sheets 12, 15 of thermoplastic material formed with semi-cylindrical recesses and having marginal flanges 16, 17 united by the application of heat and pressure. The recesses may be formed by a vacuum moulding process. The package is so dimensioned that it may be stood on end as shown.
