Abstract

747,456. Grease guns. WISELY, R. A. June 17, 1954 [July 1, 1953], No. 17832/54. Class 102(1). In a grease gun, the pump plunger 11A is connected to a piston rod 11 carrying a piston 10 continuously subjected to pneumatic pressure through connection 4. The delivery stroke is effected by pressing button 5 to close the exhaust valve 7 and continues until the piston 10 uncovers restricted exhaust openings 19 in the barrel 1. The return stroke is effected by spring 13 when the valve 7 is opened; a relief valve 20 is fitted to the barrel 1. The grease is packed in the barrel 1 which is fitted with a follower piston 17 ; a light spring 18 is fitted between the pistons 10, 17. The inlet ports 15 in the pump cylinder 12 are controlled by the plunger 11A.
