Abstract
744,404. Plate heat-exchanges. PARSONS & CO., Ltd., C. A. June 4, 1953 [June 19, 1952], No. 15430/52. Class 64(3). A plate heat-exchanger comprises a stack of flat, square plates 1 constituting the heat-exchanging walls separating the respective fluids and spaced apart by strips 3, three such strips being disposed between adjacent plates to form fluid passages each of which is subdivided into a plurality of smaller passages 8 by corrugated sheet material 5, the spacing strips 3 being so disposed that the respective fluids flow at right angles to one another through the heat-exchanger. One or both of the heatexchanging fluids may be directed through the apparatus in two passes, Fig. 5 (not shown). The component parts are brazed together after assembly. Specification 718,991 is referred to.
