Abstract
709,781. Needle-threaders. ULLISPERGER, sen., E. VON, and ULLISPERGER, jun., E. VON. April' 16, 1952 [Feb. 19, 1952], No. 9597/52. Class 112 Separate receiving means and threading devices are provided for needles of different sizes, the threading devices being actuated by a common operating member. In the form shown, the casing of the threader has two projections 2, 3 with funnel-shaped bores of different sizes to take different needles; each bore is flattened at the lower end to locate the needle eye for the passage of a threading member 8 through lateral apertures 6 and the needle eye, the member 8 carrying with it a thread previously laid in a notch 23 in the casing. The members 8 are mounted on arms 4 pivoted on pins 10 in line with the bores in the projections 2, 3 and the arms are formed with brackets carrying rollers 14 which engage inclined guides in a vertically-moving member 12, so that as the member 12 is depressed against a return spring 19 by means of a knob 13 the members'8 are projected across the bores of the projections 2, 3 to thread any needle therein. More than two needle-receiving bores and threading members may be provided.
