707,123. Travelling-wave tubes. ENGLISH ELECTRIC VALVE CO., Ltd. Feb. 5, 1953 [April 29, 1952], No. 10784/52. Class 39(1) A travelling wave tube has an envelope 1 of triangular internal cross section, and the wave propagating winding, preferably a helix 3, is supported by three insulating rods 4 which lie in the corners of the triangle and extend over substantially the whole length of the helix. No fastening means such as clips are necessary. The triangle may have truncated or flattened corners 2, and is preferably equilateral. The rods 4 are of silica, glass or ceramic material.
