697,541. Motor-vehicle driving arrangements. KLATTE, T., [ trading as KLATTE. T.] [Firm of]. May 22, 1951 [June 6, 1950], No. 11963/51. Classes 79 (ii) and 79 (iii) Each driving wheel of a load-carrying vehicle or a train of load-carrying vehicles is driven by an individual liquid pressure motor, the vehicle or train having at least two sets of driving mechanism, each set being operable to supply to all of the motors either independently of, or in conjunction with, the other set or sets and each set comprising a prime mover and a liquid pressure pump connected with the motors. As shown the invention is applied to a road train comprising a tractor 1 and two trailers. Mounted on the tractor are the prime movers 2, 3 and the pumps 4, 5 the output of which is controlled by a valve 6. Each driving wheel 11 of the tractor has its motor connected by conduits 7 - 10 to the valve 6. The valve 6 is connected to driving wheels 12 on the trailers by conduits 7, 8 carried by the trailers, coupling between adjacent vehicles being effected by hose connections 13 and adjacent hoses being connected by couplings 14 incorporating non- return valves. In Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), a trailer carries a crane which is actuated by an oil pump connected to the oil conduits by a valve.
