Class 33 In a sanitary liquid trap comprising a U-shaped passage 4, Fig. 1, formed by a downwardly extending partition 3 in a central vertical chamber 1 with an upper inlet 2, an outer chamber 5 surrounding the upper end of the central chamber and forming a liquid reservoir communicates with the end of the passage remote from the inlet, and has an outlet 6 in its outer wall, so that after a fall in pressure in the outlet pipe has caused liquid in the inlet side of the passage to fall until air can be drawn through the trap, liquid from the reservoir re-forms the liquid seal. A radial partition 7 may be fitted in the outer chamber, so that liquid from the central chamber must pass round it to reach the outlet. In the modification shown in Fig. 3 a second partition 8 is fitted in the central chamber to form an air vent 9 and the trap is made as two threaded parts screwed together at 10, with ribs 12 on the lower part to facilitate screwing. A closure cap may be provided at the lower end of the trap.
