685,343. Cutting blocks. CAHN, S. Dec. 18, 1950. [April 3, 1950] No. 30836/50. Class 31 (i). [Also in Group XXIII] A cutting block comprises a number of thin wooden laminations 5 glued together under pressure in face-to-face relationship with different fibre patterns in adjacent laminations, the working surface of the block being formed by the longitudinal edges 6 of the laminations. The block is made by peeling off from a wooden billet 1 a, sheet 2 which is cut into bands 3 each having the same width as the desired height of the block, cutting these bands to the desired length of the block, glueing the bands on both faces, stacking them in superposed relationship and pressing them together.
