Abstract

662,072. Centrifugal separators. KONINKLIJKE MACHINEFABRIEK GEB., STORK & CO., N.V. March 18,1949. [March 22, 1948] No. 7427/49. Class 23. [Also in Group XXVIII] An apparatus for separating dust from gas comprises a duct 1 having a tubular bend 5 having limits A-A, B-B through which the dust-laden gas flows and which forms a passageway having inner and outer curved wall portions, and a grating of arcuate blades 7 extending across the passageway from one curved wall portion, e.g., the inner wall; the dust-laden gas changing its direction of flow before traversing the grating, and the heavy particles being thrown against the outer wall a. The latter which is subject to wear may be provided with replaceable plates. A small portion of gas containing light particles byepasses the grating through a duct 8 and a cyclone separator 9 which delivers into the main stream in a chimney 6.
