Abstract

632,449. Perambulators. BRITTON, A. A. E. Oct. 11, 1947, No. 27337. [Class 108 (i)] [Also in Group XXXI] A four-wheeled perambulator has a wheelcarrying frame consisting of a front part 1 carrying the body 3 and a rear part 2 pivotally and slidably connected to the front part 1, each part being supported on a pair of road-wheels 8a, 19. When the parts are in the closed or " walking " position lever 34 engages the bracing bar 14 and when the lever 34 is raised the parts can be separated to an open " riding " position and locked by means of the catch 38 connected to the lever 34 by a flexible cable 37. The front part 1 is pivotally connected to the single backbone strut 2 by a bolt 44 carried by the swivel bracket 24, thus a rider can steer the permabulator by means of the handle 9 and propel it by pedals 26.
