Abstract

620,882. Resilient joints. WRIGHT, H. CLAYTON-. Jan. 29, 1947, No. 2715. [Class 108 (iii)] In means for coupling steering links 12, 24 comprising a flange pin 10 adapted to be secured to one link 12 and an opening in the other link 24, or (as shown) in a member 18 adapted to be secured thereto, in which fits a resilient bush 20 having the pin extending through it, a nut 16 screwing on to the pin against a washer 17, whereby endwise pressure can be applied to the bush, the flange of the pin and the washer are of larger diameter than the bush before compression and have marginal portions at the sides adjacent the ends of the bush which are of tapering or conical form. The mouth of the opening is flared at 19. A shoulder 14 on the pin 10 limits pressure applied to the bush to a predetermined value.
