Abstract
Compounds of the formula <FORM:0606192/IV(b)/1> wherein R is an acyl group, R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group and n is a small integer, are prepared by reacting hydroxylamine or salts thereof with a 2-(omegacarboxy-alkylidene) -3-keto-4-acylamido-tetrahydrothiophene. Corresponding acids are obtained by hydrolysis of the esters thus produced. In examples, 2-(31-carbomethoxy-propylidene)-, 2 - (41 - carbomethoxy - butylidene)-and 2 - (51 - carbethoxy - pentylidene) - 3 - keto4 - benzamido-tetrahydrothiophene are reacted with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in pyridine. Other acyl groups may be used instead of benzamido whilst the ester group may be any alkyl, aryl or arylalkyl. Specifications 606,191 and 606,196 are referred to.
