Abstract
604,826. Centrifugal machines. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd, and JACOBY, H. C. E. Dec. 5, 1945, No. 32858. [Class 23] An air filter comprises an orifice 15 through which an air stream is arranged to flow and means arranged to cause at least the major part of the air stream before entering the orifice 15 to flow across it in a direction substantially parallel to the plane of the orifice, the air then flowing back to the orifice 15 by way of a curved path, there being no baffle between the air flowing across the orifice and the orifice 15. Air enters the inlet 6 swirls round in the top of the main chamber 16 and then flows through the orifice 15, the heavier particles being deposited on both sides of partition 18. Further separation is:caused by the air passing into the chamber 21 and then out through the orifice 19.
