Abstract
602,492. Electric heating resistances. FISK, SIR E. T., and SOBY, W. Aug. 23, 1945, Nos. 21544/45 and 9901/46. [Class 39(iii)] [Also in Groups XVI, XXXV, XXXVI and XL(c)] An electrically conducting pattern, such as a wiring circuit for a radio receiver, a coil, an electric heating panel or a condenser, is made on an insulating panel by forming on a metal layer secured to the panel a pattern of resist material and dissolving or etching away the metal not covered by the resist to leave one or more conductors of substantial length attached to the insulating panel. An electric heating resistance is formed on an insulating panel 25. A sheet of tin plated copper foil or resistance metal is hot-pressed to the surface of the panel 25, which is coated with a suitable adhesive. An acidresistant paint is applied to the metal foil through a silk-screen stencil having a pattern of the heating resistance, and the surplus metal removed by etching in a solution of ferric chloride. The acidresistant paint and surplus adhesive are removed, and the pattern 26 may be coated with resistance metal by electro-deposition. The acid resistant pattern may be formed on the metal foil covering the insulating panel by a photographic method. Specifications 327,356, [Class 100(ii)], and 461,275 are referred to.
