Abstract

593,542. Adjustable seats. MILLER, A. E., and FAY, H. June 4, 1945, No. 13946. [Class 52(ii)] An articulated frame in three sections 13, 14, 15 provides a leg-rest, seat and back for a chair and is movably mounted on rollers running in guides a forming a rigid chair frame. The articulated frame can be arranged for normal or reclining sitting positions or can be extended with the sections aligned so that the user can adopt a recumbent position. An adjustable foot-rest 65 is carried by a member 31 pivoted to the floor and the head-rest 30 on the back section 15 is also adjustable. A curtain 50 on a spring- roller 51 is unrolled as the head-rest descends in the guides.
