Abstract
591,192. Showcase lamps. HUCKETT, L. H. May 1, 1945, No. 11029. [Class 75 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A mounting for a double-ended lamp comprises a conductor 12 carrying lamp sockets 13, 17. The socket 13 is secured to a brass disc 16 which is connected to the conductor and to an insulator 24. A sleeve 26 having a cap 27 contains the socket assembly and is slidable in a cylindrical casing 10 which also contains the socket 17 on an insulating disc 29. The casing, at its other end, has a cap 35 carrying contacts 36, 37 which energize the lamp (see Group XXXVI), when it is pushed into the casing and secured by a bayonet catch 55, 56. In a modification, using two conductors, Fig. 7 (not shown), a trough-shaped casing carries between flanges a glass plate which is illummated by the lamp. The mounting can be modified to carry lamps in tandem and the conductors bent and polished to serve as reflectors for the lamps.
