573,780. Transformer cores. TELEGRAPH CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE CO., Ltd., and CROSSLEY, D. W. April 24, 1944, No. 7584. [Class 38 (ii)] For insulating and bonding the laminations of a transformer core made of spirally wound strip, the strip is coated before heat treatment with a refractory material which fuses into an insulating layer during heat treatment. The coating may be silica or a vitreous composition which combines with oxide specially formed on the strip, and details of the proportions of substances in a suitable mixture applied as a suspension in acetone are given.
