[Class 81 (ii)] An ampoule syringe comprises a glass ampoule contained in a flexible container which supports and communicates with a hypodermic needle so that when the container is squeezed the ampoule breaks and the contents are ejected through the needle. A filter may be provided to retain glass particles. The flexible container may be of rubber, and may be lined with metal gauze or pliable sheet to prevent puncturing by glass. The container may have an extension which covers the needle and is pulled off before use, or the syringe may be enclosed in a glass container.
