Abstract

510,206. Plate heat-exchangers. WAGNER, C. O. March 17, 1938, No. 8241. [Class 64 (iii)] A heat-exchanger for fluids is composed of plates a having fins c, produced by pleating the plates as described in Specification 510,197, and assembled with the fins of adjacent plates disposed transversely to one another to provide two sets of flow channels at right angles to one another. The plates are secured together by soldering and by angles e carrying members f for directing the fluids into and out of the channels. The parts of the plates between the fins and, if desired, the fins themselves, may be formed with local swellings or indentations, or ripples or corrugations. U.S.A. Specification 1,960,510 is referred to.
