506,374. Screw propellers. MESSER-SCHMITT AKT.- GES., (formerly BAYERISCHE FLUGZEUGWERKE AKT.- GES.). Oct., 27, 1938, No. 31142. Convention date, Oct. 28,1937. [Class 114] In a variable pitch propeller having two oppositely disposed blades 1, 2, these are mounted in sockets in the hub 7 in outer journal bearings 5, 6 and the roots are extended so that they carry a common journal bearing 8 and thrust bearing 9 in line with the propeller axis. In place of the bearings 8 and 9 a single bearing capable of taking the thrust of the centrifugal forces and the bearing forces may be employed.
