Abstract

496,504. Loud-speakers. MURPHY RADIO, Ltd., and BRAYSHAW, G. S. June 25,1937, No. 17751. [Class 40 (iv)] A loud-speaker 1 is mounted in a cabinet so that its diaphragm 2 is set back at a slant from the front wall 3 through which sound issues and the peripheral surface of the chamber formed between the diaphragm and the plane of the cabinet wall is lined with sound-absorbent material 5. The gap between the baffle-board 4, on which the diaphragm is mounted and the front wall 3 is closed by an upper wall 6 and side walls. The sound-absorbent material, which is preferably hair-felt, is of a thickness from ¢ to 1" and may be formed with an outwardly inclined surface. According to the Provisional Specification, the baffle-board 4 may be parallel to the front wall 3.
