Abstract

495,999. Sound-reproducers. WILLSON, H. C. Nov. 9, 1937, No. 30768. [Class 40 (iv)] In a moving-coil sound-reproducer, a spider g secured to the diaphragm e has a hole or metallic eyelet associated with a pin k mounted in the centre pole-piece b so that when the coil is correctly centred in the gap, the spider g and pin k can be secured together by a readily fusible alloy, such as solder, or by a cement. In a modification, Fig. 4, in which the diaphragm e has an external spider g, the holes or eyelets co-operate with pins k1, k2 mounted on the annular pole-plate c or on the chassis r. In a further construction, Fig. 6, the spider g has strips o engaging between, and soldered to, bifurcated extensions m carried by plates n secured to the pole-plate or to the chassis, and in a modified construction, Fig. 7 (not shown), the strips have downwardly-projecting ends located adjacent and secured by solder or cement to upwardly-projecting parts carried by the plates.
