Abstract
491,416. Making compound articles. WUPPERTALER METALLVERARBEITUNGS-GES. Dec. 14, 1937, No. 34551. Convention date, Dec. 15, 1936. [Class 83 (ii)] A porous metal layer made up of metal powder is applied to a core or shell and coherence obtained by submitting it to high frequency eddy currents. A bearing may be made of cast or wrought iron copper coated and to which a mixture of 20 per cent iron chips and 80 per cent copper powder is pressed under high pressure. During the application of the eddy currents a non-oxidizing stream of gas is applied to the work.
