Abstract
Preparations of fat-soluble hormones suitable for medical use are prepared by dissolving the hormones in an ester of an aliphatic aromatic alcohol. Small quantities of other substances, such as oils, may be added. Hormones specified are oestrone, androsterone, progesterone and suprarenal cortex hormone and derivatives thereof such as their benzoates. Solvents specified are esters of benzyl alcohol or phenyl ethyl alcohol with acetic, propionic, stearic or benzoic acids.
