Abstract
486,479. Respiratory appliances. BELLONI, A. April 28, 1937, No. 12158. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group VII] A life-saving garment provided with floats 5, 6, has a hood portion 3 attached thereto which can be opened, Fig. 1, or closed, Fig. 3, to form an air-bell. When the hood is closed, air may be inhaled through a mouth-piece 13, tube 12 and valve 11 and exhaled through a valve 14 into the hood ; stoppers 15 are provided to close the nostrils. The hood is provided with goggles 19 which can be adjusted by a band suspender 20. The legs of the garment are provided with lacing 24 and sliding-clasp fastenings 22, 23. Lead is provided in the soles 21 of the garment. The garment may be combined with an auto-respirator having a three-way cock interposed between a tube, which is connected to the canister of the auto-respirator, and the inner and outer ends of the tube 12.
