Abstract

479,078. Buoys. PAINE, H. SCOTT-, and BARKER, S. N. Feb. 27, 1937, No. 5966. [Class 68 (i)] A buoy is formed of a number of discs or plates 10 of light material, such as balsa wood or sponge rubber cut from a sheet with a continuous surface, covered with waterproof material such as bitumen and assembled side by side to form a cylinder. The discs &c. are preferably annular and the open ends of the cylinder are sealed by wooden discs 12 proofed with bitumen &c. The buoy is fitted with a canvas cover 13 with wire strops 14 for attaching mooring lines &c.
