Abstract
463,252. Alloys. SKODA WORKS, PLZEN. June 20, 1935, No. 17799. Convention date, June 25, 1934. [Class 82 (i)] A non-magnetic steel alloy contains not less than 50 per cent of iron, 5-30 per cent of manganese, 0À8-5 per cent of silicon, 0À35-2 per cent of carbon, 0À5-4 per cent of chromium or aluminium or both and 0À5- 12 per cent of nickel, the nickel content being between 0À5 and 4 per cent if the manganese content lies between 5 and 15 per cent or between 4 and 12 per cent if the manganese lies between 15 and 30 per cent, and the carbon : manganese ratio lying within the limits indicated by the hatched area of the diagram. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 relates to an alloy having somewhat wider ranges of the various elements and which may also comprise tungsten, vanadium, molybdenum, cobalt, copper, titanium, tantalum, boron, tin, and nitrogen. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 124,817, [Class 82 (i)], and 369,918.
