Abstract
448,850. Purifying exhaust. DEGEA AKT.-GES. AUERGES., 16, Rotherstrasse, Berlin.-(Assignees of Daimler-Benz Akt.- Ges.; Unterturkheim, Stuttgart, Germany) Sept. 15, 1934, No. 26573. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1933. [Class 7 (ii)] The exhaust is divided into two paths a<1>, a2, a valve d ensuring that at high loads the path a2 is chiefly taken, whereas at low loads the flow is down the path a<1> in which a Venturi c draws in air ; a purifier b is located at the junction of the two paths as shown or in the path a<1>. The valve d, which may be a flap valve, is spring- loaded and operated by the flow-pressure of the gas or by hand. The purifier 6 may comprise a filter acting catalytically. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement in which the purifier is located in the path a<1>, but the Venturi c is omitted therefrom. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
