Abstract
440,500. Gas turbines. BEDER, B., Berliner Allee, Fehrbellin, Germany. Aug. 2, 1934, No. 22566. [Class 110 (iii)] In a reaction gas turbine of the type in which combustion takes place in the rotor, a hollow shaft c is formed with enlargements or drums d upon which the combustion chambers e, f are mounted. A fan l feeds mixture to the drums d past non-return valves p whence it is admitted to the combustion chambers by valves g, h actuated by adjustable cams. The outlet valves v are formed of spring pressed sliding plates which are actuated by a fixed cam channel w. The reaction surface 7 is formed of refractory material. A cooling fan m is provided. Ignition takes place as the plates of the valve v open upon leaving the cam channel. Specification 231,560, [Class 110 (iii)], is referred to.
