Abstract
393,091. Vehicle axles. FURTAK, W., Silesia Mine, Dziedzice, Poland. June 20, 1932, No. 17447. Convention date, July 18, 1931. [Class 103 (vi).] In wheels and axles for goods wagon bearings of the kind in which the two-part axle is connected together by a knuckle joint and is enclosed in a sleeve forming a roller casing, the knuckle member is provided with ribs having conical ends and is closed in by a disc capable of being fixed in the sleeve by means of a bayonet joint. The two-part axle having wheels a shrunk on its parts b is mounted in a roller bearing casing c having a central opening to receive a cap e by means of a bayonet joint. The cap e bears upon a connecting member d comprising a yoke taking over the recessed ends of the parts b of the axle and a central web upon which the ends of the parts b bear. Rollers f are positioned between the casing and the axle and are separated by a distance sleeve g which may be varied to alter the gauge of the wheels, different knuckles being provided for various gauges.
