Abstract

386,721. Lenses ; reflectors. SOUTHWICK, J. and SOUTHWICK, S. J., 46, Great Hampton Street, Birmingham. Sept. 26, 1931, No. 26854. [Class 97 (i).] A lens is made from celluloid &c. of hollow formation enclosing a liquid refractive filling. The lens is formed of two discs a, b of any desired curvatures, having interengaging flanges a<1>, bl which are secured together by an adhesive, enclosing a cavity c which is filled with water &c. The lens is particularly intended for use as a rear reflector on bicycles &c., and for this purpose the outer surface of the disc a may be formed with facets. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 9432/13, [Class 97 (i), Optical systems &c.].
