Abstract
384,716. Pipe joints. MERCER, E., 7, Alexandra Terrace, and PANKHURST, V. H. HAYES-, The Parade, both in Exmouth, Devon. Sept. 2, 1931, No. 24605. [Class 99 (i).] A pipe is joined to a plate 7 or other fitting by a split coned ring 2, an internally coned ring 5 bearing on the plate, a clamping member 8 and studs 12. A packing ring 9 is inserted between the ring 5 and the member 7 and a packing ring 11 may be inserted in an inner recess in the ring 5. In addition the pipe end may be flared with packing between it and the split ring.
