Abstract
372,534. Oil engines. FUCHS, G.; 151, Schmidenerstrasse, and SP€TH, H., 4, K³ferstrasse, both in Cannstatt, Stuttgart, Germany. April 20, 1931, No. 11708. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iv).] A mixture of hydrogen and oxygen produced by the decomposition of steam under intense heating is admitted by a valve h to effect the ignition of a charge of combustible mixture in the cylinder at the end of the compression stroke. The igniting charge is drawn from a passage e into a pump chamber c from which it is discharged into the working cylinder through the valve h. A mechanically actuated timed valve may be located in the supply passage e which valve and the admission valve h may both be of the poppet type.
