Abstract
360,788. Mixing-apparatus ; moulding. THIEL, A. VAN, 114, Boulevard General Jacques, Brussels. March 18, 1931, No. 8348. Convention date, March 19, 1930. [Class 86.] Apparatus for continuously mixing liquid and divided solid matter and distributing t h e mixture intc moulds comprises means for feeding the liquid and solid in regulated quantities into a mixing chamber provided w i t h rotary blades, the ingredients falling past rotating members which scatter them, and the mixture being discharged by a pocketed drum and received by moulds running on a track. The liquid is fed from a tank 1 by a dosing appliance comprising a rotating, open cylinder 5, working in a casing in communication with the tank and discharge passage respectively. The solid is fed by a worm 4 into a similar dosing appliance 6 comprising a drum with a wedge-shaped pocket. The materials are scattered as they fall by rotary members 7, 8 and are mixed in the chamber 9 by a rotating member 10. The mixture is discharged by a pocketed drum 12 and falls on to shallow moulds moved along tracks by an endless belt 17. The dosing and mixing appliances are driven from a common shaft by belts &c. 19 .. 22, and the distributer 12 and belt 17 from a hand &c. operated crank 24. The capacities of the dosing appliance may be varied by the use of a liner on the shaft of the cylinder 5 and by wedges in the bottom of the cavity in the drum 6.
