283,773. Morris Commercial Cars, Ltd., and Cannell, W. May 5, 1927. Universal joints.-In a universal joint wherein shaft ends 1, 2 have pairs of trunnions 3 journaled in bushes 8 arranged between the parts 4, 5 of a peripherally-divided coupling ring, the outer parts of the ring members 4, 5 are provided with radial extensions 10 between which is held a sleeve 13, forming an annular lubricant chamber 11 open to the outer ends of the bearings. The sleeve 13 engages in grooves provided with packing rings 12 in the extension 10, so as to be held in place when the parts of the ring are secured together by boits 6. Lubricant is supplied to the chamber 11 through a nipple 16.
