Air and gas douches.-Apparatus for delivering a jet of air which, for purposes of use as an anaesthetic, is cooled by the vapour from liquid air, comprises a rotary fan A delivering the gas to be cooled through a pipe a, a drying apparatus B and thence through a pipe d to a cooling coil C, the cooled jet being delivered through a pipe e controlled by a cock f. The cooling coil c is surrounded by a jacket, connected through a. pipe l, with a container D for the liquefied cooling gas and having an outlet g. Vaporization of the liquid in D is effected by introducing gas from the pipe d through a branch pipe i, the rate of vaporization and hence the degree of cooling being controlled by a cock k. Cocks b, h, are provided on the pipes a, l respectively. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that other gases may be employed both as cooling and cooled media. The subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
