Abstract
272,754. Didier, L. J. B. Oct. 30, 1926. Colour photography.-A process for producing tricolour photographs of the kind wherein two plates are superimposed, one carrying one of the colour-record images and the other carrying two, and wherein the images on the second plate are produced in succession by sensitizing with bichromate, printing, developing and dyeing, is characterized in that dyes having different penetrability are used for colouring the two images on the second plate. The single image on the first plate may be produced by any process, such as the pinatype process. The second plate is coated with bichromated gelatin and, after printing under the second colour-record negative, is coloured by immersion in a dye-bath, containing for example, carmoisin red F. having a feeble penetrating action. After washing, the plate is resensitized in a bichromate bath, exposed again under the third colour-record negative and washed, and the image is coloured in a dye-bath containing, for example, mikado golden yellow, having a. stronger penetrating action.
