Abstract

Transformers. - The inductance of transformer windings is varied by means of two or more electrically connected concentric metal tubes slidably mounted in relation to the windings so that the latter may be enclosed or shielded to a variable extent. Fig. 2 shows a transformer coupling comprising coils 7, 8 disposed between slidable metal tubes 1, 2, 9 mounted on a plate 3. In a modification, a coil open at both ends is provided with slidable shielding tubes at each end.
