Abstract
253,093. Matthey, H. June 6, 1925. [Convention date]. Lenses, grinding and polishing. -A machine for grinding watch glasses to elliptical or other shape consists of a grinding-wheel 11 against which the edge of the glass is ground under control of a templet p. The templet and the watch glass q are clamped together, with a rubber &c. lining 9 between, by a screw x carried by a sleeve v mounted in a bracket t forming part of a device movable on a slide l adjustable by a screw m on a plate k; the plate is carried by a rod g adjustable up and down in a base member a and clamped by a screw h. The templet is rotatably mounted on a pin u carried by the bottom plate r of the bracket t, and is kept up to a stop n secured to the slide 1; the glass is held down on the templet by a part 2 rotatable on the ball shaped end of the screw x, with a rubber &c. pad 3 interposed. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of a grinding-wheel with a rounded edge for grinding inwardly curved portions. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
