Abstract

The invention relates to a blast protected door package comprising a panel of a blast-resistant material, a frame provided around the perimeter of the panel, comprising a first pair of frame members mounted along a pair of opposing perimeter edges of said panel and a second pair of frame members mounted along the other pair of perimeter edges of the panel and wherein said door package further comprises a L-shaped support portion for receiving said panel, said support portion comprising a back leg for supporting said edge part of said panel and a bottom leg comprising an engaging member, said support portion being fixed onto said frame members, a L-shaped bead member comprising a back leg for supporting said edge part of said panel and a bottom leg comprising an engaging members for mechanically engaging with said engaging member of said support portion such that a U-shaped frame for enclosing edge portion of the panel is being provided.
