Abstract
245,514. Moseley & Sons, Ltd., D., and Moseley, R. Oct. 9, 1924, Mattresses and cushions of the type comprising an endless pneumatic tube, folded to form a number of parallel sections, have the sections arranged to form a kink in the tube at each bend, which retards the flow of air from one section to another. As shown in Fig. 1, the parallel sections 9 are secured together, at 18, and to the end limb 7 and, at the opposite side of the cushion, to a strip of canvas or the like 14, to retain the parts in position, and to form the end connecting pieces 11, 15 with the kinks 12, 16. These kinks may however be formed by attaching stiffening pieces instead of connecting the parts as described. The kinks may also be stiffened by vulcanizing or otherwise attaching the contacting folds 17 as shown in Fig. 4.
